Gamma-aminobutyric acid ELISA Gamma-aminobutyric acid ELISA

Gamma-aminobutyric acid ELISA

Directly synthesized from Glutamic acid to limit neuronal excitability, Gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) is found at concentrations of 1-10 mM in the mammalian brain. Although GABA is mainly known for its inhibitory function, the molecule can exhibit excitatory functions, as in insects, through the activation of cation currents, and in the mammalian developing brain, where it can excite immature neurons.
